 The Diesel Particulate Filter Gasket creates an air-tight compression seal between the exhaust and particulate filter to prevent harmful exhaust fumes from entering the atmosphere. It is highly recommended to replace this gasket any time the DPF is being serviced to avoid inefficient filtering and a potential check engine light .
